General Finishes Industrial Water Based Wood Coatings

For twenty years General Finishes has been a recognised pioneer of the development of waterborne stains and finishes. Our topcoats have won three prestigious national competitions against numerous major manufacturers (see Fine Woodworking Magazine issues Dec/1996, Nov/1998, and Dec/2006). Our new stain technology has been the catalyst in our growth. In 2006 the purchase of Compliant Spray Systems, the Enduro topcoat products and AccuSpray line further strengthened our position.

All Enduro products listed below are available in 3.785 litre (one US gallon) cans, 18 litre (five US gallon) pails and 208 litre (55 US gallon) drums. Initial orders of most products are subject to a minimum order value and six week lead time. Please contact us for pricing information.

The products are designed for spray applications and do not require thinning. Stir well and strain before using.

		Industrial Stains Enduro GF Industrial Stains are formulated with a proprietary blend of pigments and dyes to provide rich colours. Designed for production use, they are liquid versions of the General Finishes’ consumer semi-gel water based wood stains. They may be sprayed or hand wiped. Custom colours available upon request. 		Enduro Clear Acrylic Topcoat GF Enduro Clear Acrylic is our workhorse commercial topcoat and produces the clearest film of all our topcoats. With high solids content, it builds quickly. For everyday production work, Clear Acrylic is our choice because of its combination of performance and value pricing. Sheens: Flat-10, Satin-35, Semi Gloss-50 and Gloss-90. 		Enduro Clear Poly Topcoat GF Enduro Poly Topcoat is Clear Acrylic Topcoat with a healthy dose of polyurethane added. Clear Poly can be used on any project where more solids (31%) and durability are desired. Sheens: Flat-10, Satin-35, Semi Gloss-50 and Gloss-90. 		Enduro Pre-Cat Urethane GF Enduro Pre-Cat Urethane utilizes the latest resin and cross linking technology to provide maximum toughness, durability and water resistance. It is comparable to any conversion varnish or pre-catalyzed product. 		Enduro Sanding Sealer GF Enduro Sanding Sealer is a clear undercoat that forms an easily sandable foundation for any GF Enduro water based top coats. The high solids content builds a fast film. 		Enduro White Undercoat GF Enduro White Undercoat is very much like our Sanding Sealer with the addition of white colorant to provide primer undercoat for white/off-white finishes. High solids facilitate a fast film build. It dries tack free in 10-20 minutes.
		Enduro Pigmented Acrylic GF Enduro Pigmented Acrylic is a high solids pigmented finish. It is ideal for cabinets and millwork. Stocked in Black and White, custom colours are available upon request. White and Clear can be used as tint bases to achieve endless colours. Can be used with General Finishes Glaze Effects. Sheen: Satin, Semi Gloss
		GF Milk Paints GF Milk Paints are acrylic based liquid paints available in over twenty popular colours. They utilize new interior/exterior furniture-grade technology and are formulated for both indoor and outdoor projects. Designed for painting wood surfaces, Milk Paint levels well and pulls down flat for a smooth surface that can be glazed or top coated for added durability. May be sprayed or brushed. 		GF Glaze Effects Glaze Effects are translucent water based colours used to create beautiful decorative finishes such as distressing, marble, shabby chic, burnishing, colour washing, rag rolling and wood graining.  Use over Water Based Wood Stains, and Milk Paints. Glaze Effects can be inter-mixed or layered to create custom colours. They may also be layered over one another to create deeper, richer looks. 		Additives
		Extender is a wetting additive used to extend the open time of any water based stain or topcoat. GF Extender MSDS (PDF)
		Crosslinker is a catalyst that causes molecules in topcoats to crosslink forming a harder film with increased water and chemical resistance.  It may be use with any of our water based top coats. GF Enduro Cross Linker MSDS (PDF)
		Amber Tint is a dye that tints topcoats with an amber hue.
